Divorce lawyer Peter Ullrich’s seemingly perfect life shatters when his wife Katja suddenly leaves with their children. To shield his reputation, he hides the split and asks his clerk Thomas - himself reeling from family turmoil - to care for the kids. Rahman (50), a widower who lives alone at home, decided to move out of his house. The reason he moved from his house was because he wanted to forget all his memories with his wife, Dewi (45), who died 5 years ago. When he cleaned up and took care of the things that needed to be packed, the memories of those things resurfaced in his mind. Until one day, he found a cassette tape entitled "My Love", Rahman played it and suddenly the tape contained a recording of his wife's voice. Rahman's attempts to escape the memory of his wife led him to the point where he found what he needed all along.

Marie is fed up with always serving men as a fling. Now she wants to turn the tables and gets herself two male creatures: she regularly has wild sex with the muscular construction worker Frank, while pianist Alyosha is there for the romantic hours. But Marie develops more feelings for both of them over time, which is not her only problem, because the two lovers also happen to share the same apartment...

Chibi-neko soon falls in love with Tokio. In her own mind, Chibi-neko is a small human who speaks in human words, although people only ever seem to hear her meow, and she believes that all humans were once kittens like her. A stray cat tells Chibi-neko of a paradise called Cottonland, where dreams can come true.

Pierre has been happily married for fifteen years and a good father. Still in love with his wife, he enjoys his wife and family and is content. One evening, he meets Elsa at a party and are immediately attracted to each other. Fifteen days later, they happen to meet again and the mutual attraction turns into infatuation. But his love for his wife and Elsa's rule about not dating married men prevents them from taking the next step. Instead, they fantasize about each other, and soon the fantasies mingle with the reality.

The film consists of a series of tightly interlinked vignettes, the most sustained of which details the story of a man and a woman who are passionately in love. Their attempts to consummate their passion are constantly thwarted, by their families, by the Church and bourgeois society in general.
